Short answer

Blocksfinity Authenticator is a signing app for Vaulta (formerly EOS). It keeps your keys encrypted on your own device under a master password of at least 16 characters, and approves sign-ins and transactions when an app asks. Nobody can reset that password, including Blocksfinity. Install it from /download or use the web version at auth.blocksfinity.com.

What it is (and is not)

It is an authenticator and signer. It holds keys for one or more accounts, on Vaulta mainnet, Jungle4 testnet, and other Antelope networks.
It is not a full wallet. Balances, staking, and voting live in the Blocksfinity explorer and wallet at /explore.
It is not custodial. Keys are stored encrypted on your device, and Blocksfinity cannot see or recover them.

Install paths

iPhone and iPad: App Store. Android: Google Play. Both listings are published by RORO Technology LLC.
macOS (Apple silicon), Windows 10 and 11, and Linux (.deb or AppImage): installers on the download page.
Web: auth.blocksfinity.com, with no install. It uses passkeys only and cannot import a private key or restore a key certificate.

How to set it up

Open /download and install the app for your device, or open the web version.
Create a vault with a master password of at least 16 characters. Write it down offline before you continue.
Add an account: import a saved key, restore a certificate, or use a passkey.
On Blocksfinity, choose Authenticator when you sign in, and approve the request.
Make a backup path, such as the owner key certificate or a second wallet, so one lost device does not lock you out.

How the vault protects keys

Keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The encryption key is derived from your master password with Argon2id.
The password must be at least 16 characters, use at least 5 different characters, and not be a common password.
The vault locks after 5 minutes of inactivity by default (1, 5, 15, or 60 minutes in Settings), and after 30 seconds in the background.
Before signing with a standard key, the app asks for your password again, or for the account's passkey if it has one.
On the installed app, fingerprint or face unlock is optional. It does not store your master password.

Signing with Blocksfinity and other apps

On Blocksfinity, Authenticator opens a signing window when you sign in or send a transaction. Other Vaulta apps can send signing requests through a link, a QR code, or a paired session. On a desktop browser, you can choose to sign on your phone by scanning a QR code. Read every request before you approve it. You can also use Anchor, other supported wallets, or a passkey instead.

Backups and lost devices

The installed app can create an owner key certificate: a PDF plus 6 words you write by hand. The app checks three of the words before you finish. You restore it later in the installed app with Add account, Recover from key certificate, and the same certificate works in Anchor. If you forget the master password, the only way to use the app again on that device is to erase the vault. Account access then depends on the paths in the recover access guide. Authenticator vs Anchor

Common mistakes and safety

Password only in your head. Write it down offline. There is no reset.
One device, no backup. Make a certificate or add a second wallet now.
Approving a request you did not start. Reject it. Phishing pages copy branding and ask for the vault password.
Sharing the password or keys. Nobody from Blocksfinity will ask for them. See the FAQ.

What is the difference between the app and the web version?

The installed app can hold a private key, import keys, and restore an owner key certificate. The web version uses passkeys only and cannot import a private key or restore a certificate.

What if I lose my device?

The vault on that device cannot be restored by anyone. Use a path you prepared, such as your owner key certificate in the installed app, another wallet, or your offline owner key, through the Recover page.

Are passkeys or Face ID the same as the vault password?

No. Biometric unlock in the installed app is a shortcut that keeps a copy of the vault key in the device keychain. Your master password is not stored. Passkeys are signing keys on chain, not a way to reset the vault.
